Job description

  • You'll lead the Council's IT Security team, setting direction and driving improvement
  • You'll play a key role in protecting frontline public services from cyber threats
  • You'll influence strategy, policy, and decision-making at senior levels

What you'll be doing

As IT Security Manager, you will:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing IT Security team
  • Take ownership of cyber and information security strategy, policies, and standards
  • Lead cyber incident response, including investigations and coordination with external agencies
  • Manage vulnerability assessments, cyber risk registers, and mitigation plans
  • Act as the trusted security adviser across the Council
  • Deliver security guidance, awareness, and training
  • Represent the Council in regional and national security forums
  • Keep ahead of emerging threats, risks, and best practice
  • Help shape the future of digital and cyber security across the organisation
