Job description
As part of the Marketing Technologies Squad within the Lifecycle Tribe, this role works closely with marketing teams to support the automation of marketing processes through streamlined tooling. The scope includes integrating, maintaining, and scaling marketing platform initiatives that support acquisition channels. The MarTech team operates with a combination of engineering skills, tools, ML models, and established processes and infrastructure to support marketing operations.
The role contributes to the development and maintenance of software systems that support online marketing automation. This includes building tools for campaign setup and execution, creative generation, feed generation, and budget allocation to improve the scalability of paid marketing activities. Responsibilities also include developing user-facing workflows that enable marketing teams to operate autonomously. This involves building and maintaining frontend interfaces, data integrations, and orchestration systems, as well as supporting existing solutions such as referral and affiliate integrations and content-related workflows.
What you'll do:

Design, build, and maintain marketing automation solutions that operate as part of reliable, highly available production systems, aligned with SumUp's microservice architecture

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and supporting infrastructure Write high-quality, scalable code in line with established engineering standards and best practices

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify problem areas and implement solutions, including frontend interfaces, data integrations, and third-party service orchestration, with a focus on reliability and resilience

Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers across the Lifecycle and Online Marketing teams
Requirements
Do you have experience in TypeScript?, * 3+ years of experience in full-stack software development, ideally with exposure to Go and Python
- Hands-on experience building web user interfaces using TypeScript or JavaScript, along with designing and consuming RESTful APIs in a microservice-based environment
- Experience working with SQL and event-driven architectures, including practical experience with PostgreSQL and Kafka
- Familiarity with building solutions that leverage generative models, alongside a solid understanding of system architecture, software design principles, data modelling, and API design
- A collaborative approach to working in cross-functional teams, with openness to feedback and continuous improvement
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for delivering high-quality, well-engineered solutions
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with experience engaging and collaborating with stakeholders
