Job description
The purpose of the Senior Solution Architect is to orchestrate complex solution architectures with a broad architectural significance for key outcomes or epics by defining the architectures and designs that deliver our key outcomes aligning with our technology strategy. They play a substantive role in enabling teams to deliver at pace by shaping the solution architecture forward look for a lab or platform, and partner with Product Owners engineering teams and Enterprise architects.
Requirements
- Experience leading complex architectural change involving multiple systems evolving together
- Extensive knowledge of web and API architecture patterns including microservices, CQRS and publish-subscribe
- Experience designing solutions for security, reliability and scale
- Security patterns such as authentication/single-sign-on (e.g. OAuth) as well as encryption both in-transit and at-rest
- Storytelling ability to communicate Target Architecture and gain support
- Strong personality and relationship-building to engage product and engineering teams
- Practical experience in defining technology patterns, standards, and practices for the organisation
- Customer insight to understand needs and deliver suitable solutions
And any experience of these would be useful
- Practical experience of designing and building cloud-based platforms at scale (GCP - preferred, Azure or AWS)
- Understanding of domain driven design architectures and building event-driven systems
- Experience working in Digital channels with Web and Mobile frameworks
- Experience owning the architectural strategy for a domain or system
- Leading & managing other architects
- Ability to prototype innovations and novel solutions using any tech stack
- Content management frameworks and tool
