Job description

Location: Corsham (Hybrid - 4 days per week on-site; occasional travel to DMS Whittington)We are seeking an SC Cleared Data Architect to support a major Defence programme. This long-term contract role is suited to an experienced data professional with a strong background in data architecture, modelling, and governance within large, complex, and highly regulated environments.You will play a key role in designing and assuring data architectures that meet strategic organisational needs, working closely with senior architects, delivery teams, and a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.The RoleAs a Data Architect, you will be responsible for shaping and assuring data solutions across the programme, ensuring alignment with data standards, governance frameworks, and security policies.Key responsibilities include:Designing, supporting, and guiding the upgrade, management, decommissioning, and archiving of data in line with data policyDefining and maintaining data technology

Requirements

architecture, including metadata, integration, BI, and data warehouse architecturesProducing, maintaining, and reverse-engineering data models to meet organisational and programme needsProviding input into and maintaining data dictionaries and metadata repositoriesUndertaking data profiling and source system analysis to support effective data useEnsuring data solutions comply with governance, security, and assurance requirementsMonitoring compliance with data standards and assessing the impact of breachesSupporting multidisciplinary delivery teams with clear data insights and architectural guidanceCommunicating effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing competing priorities and perspectivesAbout YouEssential experience:Active SC ClearanceProven experience working as a Data Architect within Defence or similarly regulated environmentsStrong expertise in data modelling, including conceptual, logical, and physical modelsExperience defining and maintaining data standards, policies, and governance frameworksHands-on experience with metadata management and data integration impact analysisAbility to communicate complex data concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiencesExperience working within agile, multidisciplinary delivery teamsStrong problem management skills, including root cause analysis and preventative measuresDesirable:Experience working on large-scale Defence transformation programmesFamiliarity with enterprise data platforms, BI, and data warehouse architecturesReasonable Adjustments:Respect and equality are core values to us.
