Job description

We are looking for a Software Engineer who wants to contribute to the development and maintenance of these tools, ensuring compliance with current standards and internal security requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (or a closely related field such as Software Engineering or Information Technology).

Programming:

  • Proficiency in Python (development, automation, scripting).
  • Knowledge in other languages like TCL or Java could be beneficial.

Operating Systems:

  • Solid understanding of Linux and Windows environments.

Protocols and Network Knowledge:

  • Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, routing, and secure communication principles.

Software Engineering Practices:

  • Experience with software testing (unit, integration, and/or system testing).

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Security Awareness:

  • Understanding of secure software development and compliance with internal security requirements.

Language Skills

  • English: Mandatory, both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate clearly in a technical environment.
  • German: Strong advantage for internal communication and customer interaction.

Soft Skills

  • Curiosity and willingness to learn, especially about space systems and satellite operations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams.
  • Patience and attention to detail, particularly when dealing with complex systems or operational scenarios.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to approach issues methodically and creatively.

Nice to Have (Optional but Valuable)

  • Familiarity with satellite operations or space systems.
  • Experience with automation tools and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working in a regulated or standard-driven environment (e.g., ECSS).
