Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in Java, preferably in the defense or high-tech industries.
Skills and tools that matter are Agile/Scrum and Continuous Integration & Delivery based software development, using Linux, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, Git, Gitlab, BitBucket, Junit, and Cucumber.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns. You have strong communication skills and the ability to apply critical thinking to deliver high quality software products.
You are fluent in Dutch and have a full-professional level in English.
Due to screening purposes, only candidates with an EU or Schengen citizenship are eligible to apply. (In case of dual citizenship, both must be EU or Schengen).

Your Role
Working on projects where you directly contribute to the safety of Europe? As an (embedded) software engineer, you can play a crucial role in this. Europe is investing heavily in the development of the defense of NATO countries in the coming years. There are currently numerous challenging projects for our clients, where you will work on mission-critical (embedded) software and application development with Java. These are complex (multidisciplinary) projects where you, as a software engineer, will be challenged to create (develop) robust and high-quality software. Projects that give you the opportunity to further develop yourself in the latest technologies and offer the possibilities to grow into roles such as lead developer or software architect.
In this role, you will play a key role in:
* Designing and developing state-of-the-art software applications with Java that meet the highest industry standards.
* Writing clean, high-quality code with a strong focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
* Working closely with cross-functional teams to define, shape, and implement new features.
