Job description
Join our interdisciplinary Technology Intelligence team to drive digital transformation across (bio-)pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. We are looking for a passionate Data Scientist who can build scalable, production-grade Modeling, Simulation (M&S) solutions using data-driven methods, machine learning, and generative AI. You will work directly with multi-disciplinary teams including scientists, engineers, and corresponding global partners to solve high-impact challenges that accelerate product development and manufacturing excellence.
Why Join Us?
Global Collaboration: Work in an international environment with close ties to laboratories and sites in Japan, Europe and US as well as academic partners worldwide.
Cutting-Edge Tech: Gain access to modern cloud computing, HPC systems, and state-of-the-art modeling platforms.
Growth & Visibility: Opportunities to publish in international journals, contribute to scientific communities, and attend conferences.
Culture: Join a collaborative and supportive team that values mentorship, innovation, knowledge sharing, and flexible hybrid working. Roles and Responsibilities
Data-Driven Insights: Analyze and interpret development and manufacturing datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and translate them into actionable insights for pharmaceutical scientists.
Modeling & Simulation: Develop and implement digital models and digital twins through mathematical models and generative AI to simulate pharmaceutical (bio-)processes, predict outcomes, and optimize workflows across early development, scale-up, and manufacturing.- Collaborative Innovation: Communicate effectively with scientific and business stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to translate complex requirements into end-user-tailored, technology-driven solutions with intuitive, advanced visualizations.
Data Management: Design and maintain high-quality Python-based data and model pipelines, ensuring robust data management practices for structured and unstructured data (e.g., Excel, SQL, SAP, process historians, batch records, simulation results).
Innovate & Scale: Listen to operational needs, translate them into technology-driven opportunities with clear business value, and lead the delivery of scalable digital solutions across development labs, manufacturing sites, and supply chain organizations - keeping Daiichi Sankyo at the cutting edge of Industry 4.0.-
Continuous Improvement: Continuously learn and apply state-of-the-art technologies and approaches in data science, machine learning, and generative AI. Act as a driver of continuous improvement for M&S capabilities within the function.
Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation
