Job description
The Senior Enterprise Architect will be the strategic architecture leader responsible for shaping and governing the technology landscape across the organisation. This role is critical to optimising technology to better serve the business, supporting our CTRM transformation, enabling data-driven decision making, and defining the architectural blueprint that underpins our future growth. This is a hands-on, business-facing role. The Senior Enterprise Architect provides architectural leadership, builds strong relationships with executive stakeholders, and ensures our platforms, data, and integrations form a coherent, scalable, and secure ecosystem., * Own and develop the enterprise architecture strategy, principles, and roadmap aligned to business priorities.
- Define and socialise our target architecture, including data, applications, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Establish architecture standards, patterns, and governance across delivery teams.
- CTRM Transformation
- Work closely with the CTO, Consultants, and functional leads to architect the future CTRM ecosystem.
- Ensure alignment between solution options (build vs buy) and enterprise-wide capabilities.
- Evaluate vendor architectures, integration approaches, extensibility, and long-term TCO.
- Technology Optimisation
- Simplify and modernise the legacy landscape with a clear approach to:
- Application rationalisation
- Platform services
- Data contracts & APIs
- Security and compliance baselines
- Drive opportunities to reduce complexity, improve resilience, and shorten time-to-value.
- Data Architecture & Governance
- Work closely with Data Leads on data remediation, data quality, and master data ownership.
- Define reference data, data domains, contracts, lineage, and integration standards.
- Enable data as an enterprise asset-trusted, governed, and analytics-ready.
- Solution Oversight & Design Authority
- Serve as Chair of the Architecture Review Board (ARB).
- Provide guidance and approvals for solution designs, integrations, and cloud patterns.
- Ensure architectural decisions support scalability, reliability, and operability.
- Business Partnership
- Engage directly with Trading, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams.
- Translate business strategy into actionable architecture and platform capabilities.
- Influence stakeholders with clear communication, storytelling, and pragmatic options.
- Engineering Enablement
- Work with engineering leaders to embed best practices:
- Domain-driven design
- API-first patterns
- Eventing and integration standards
- Security-by-design principles
- Support teams with architectural runway and early technical decisions.
- Security, Resilience, and Risk Reduction
- Partner with Security to define secure reference architectures and controls.
- Ensure architectures support reliability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Identify architectural risks proactively and drive remediation plans.

Requirements
Do you have a valid Architects Registration Board Registration, Architects Registration Board license?, Do you have experience in Supply chain?, * Significant experience (10+ years) in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or platform architecture in complex organisations.
- Strong background in data-heavy, transaction-driven environments (e.g., commodities, trading, financial services, supply chain).
- Deep knowledge of integration architectures (APIs, event streams, microservices).
- Experience with ERP/CTRM, cloud environments, and modern data platforms.
- Ability to simplify complex landscapes and define pragmatic, incremental roadmaps.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement-from developers to ExCo-able to communicate clearly and influence decisions.
- Proven ability to design architectures that reduce delivery friction and technical debt.
Desirable:
- Experience in commodities trading or supply chain analytics.
- Knowledge of AI-augmented architecture patterns (data enrichment, anomaly detection, ML-enabled processes).
- Exposure to regulatory environments and controls frameworks.
- Prior experience supporting RFQs, vendor evaluations, or large transformation programmes.
