Software Enigneer

Head Resourcing is partnering with a well-established specialist organisation in Livingston who are looking to bring in a Software Engineer into their close-knit inhouse technology team. The company builds and maintains a suite of commercial web platforms alongside internal desktop applications, offering plenty of variety and exposure across different technologies.

This role will suit an experienced developer who enjoys being involved from end to end working with stakeholders to understand requirements, designing solutions, writing clean and maintainable code, and ensuring applications are secure, reliable, and thoroughly tested. You'll work closely with the Chief Software Architect and collaborate within a three-person development team, where your contribution will have real visibility and impact.

What you'll be doing

• Partnering with product managers to clarify requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Contributing to architectural and design discussions with the software architect
• Developing scalable business logic from high-level specifications
• Creating clear, user-friendly interfaces for both web and desktop applications
• Supporting, enhancing, and maintaining existing systems
• Testing software thoroughly to ensure quality and stability before release

• At least 5 years' commercial experience in a software development role
• Strong background in C# and the .NET ecosystem
• Experience building web applications using ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Core
• Hands-on experience with WinForms for desktop development
• Solid SQL skills with experience using Entity Framework and ADO.NET
• Comfortable working with JavaScript and third-party SDKs

Up to £55k depending on experience
