Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior .NET Developer to join our small, dynamic development team. You'll play a pivotal role in building and improving a suite of internal web-based applications that are critical to our business operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to have a significant impact during an exciting modernisation programme. You'll work with a modern tech stack, define robust solutions, and see your work make a real difference.

This role will work across our apparel, footwear and home goods UK group businesses and is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days at Burgess Hill head office. We would also consider applications to be based at our Skelmersdale office., * Design, develop, and maintain web-based internal applications using .NET and C#, writing well-structured code that follows SOLID principles

  • Write and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures for a MySQL database
  • Collaborate with team members to design scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native applications
  • Use Docker to containerise applications and manage development environments
  • Work with Azure Cloud services to deploy, monitor, and maintain applications
  • Integrate and build user-facing features using Svelte and .NET APIs
  • Contribute to the development of cross-platform mobile/desktop applications using .NET MAUI
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, providing long-term, scalable solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and promote best practices in software engineering
  • Take ownership of projects from concept to completion, acting as a self-starter with minimal oversight

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Essential

  • Strong proficiency in .NET and C#
  • Solid understanding of SQL and experience writing and optimising queries
  • Experience with web application development
  • A sharp eye for detail and a methodical, problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with agile project delivery and tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar.

Desirable

  • Experience with Azure Cloud services (e.g., Container Apps, App Gateway, Storage, DevOps, Azure Pipelines)
  • Proficiency in Docker for containerisation and orchestration
  • Experience with unit and integration tests
  • Exposure to or experience with Svelte for front-end development
  • Experience working in a multi-entity group organisation environment.
