Job description
Your mission will be to help expand the functionality of our genomics platform. As our Senior SDE - Backend, you will contribute to the development of high-quality, reliable software by actively participating in the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of production systems. You will collaborate closely with other team members, sharing technical expertise, and promoting best practices. Your contributions will help ensure that our software solutions are robust, scalable, and meet the needs of our organization., * Execute the SDLC: Owns end-to-end delivery of software components assigned by the team leader including design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and support
- Design, build, and evolve scalable backend services, while also proactively proposing improvements and new features for the systems owned by the team
- Write high-quality, maintainable code and actively participate in code reviews, setting a high bar for engineering standards.
- Perform work estimation and risks assessment
- Communicate with stakeholders as necessary to develop product

Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on backend development
- Fluent in English to a business level
- Proficiency in Micronaut (for backend) is essential. Familiarity in any scripting language is a plus.
- Experience working in cloud-native environments, preferably on Azure, including containerized workloads (AKS or Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tooling (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Terraform)
- Solid understanding of backend fundamentals: APIs, data modeling, concurrency, performance, and distributed systems
- Knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g., React, Angular, or similar) and experience collaborating closely with frontend teams is a plus
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, JetBrains AI, etc.) is a plus
