Job description
We're seeking two meticulous Production Test Technician to ensure all audio visual (AV) electronic products meet performance, reliability, and quality standards before deployment. This hands-on role bridges engineering and production, with a focus on testing, fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement., * Conduct functional and performance tests on AV electronic products and subassemblies using diagnostic equipment and bespoke test rigs.
- Document and analyse test results, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and industry standards (e.g., CE, FCC).
- Identify and troubleshoot faults in PCBs, wiring, firmware, and interface connections; escalate unresolved issues to engineering.
- Collaborate with production teams to streamline test workflows and ensure traceability of outcomes.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure that test equipment is up to standard and used correctly.
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective action processes for recurring product issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, feedback loops, and process documentation.
- Assist in prototype testing and provide feedback on manufacturability and serviceability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a test technician role within electronics or AV manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of electronic components, schematics, and AV signal types (HDMI, RS232, audio protocols, etc.).
- Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, and automated test platforms.
- Ability to work independently with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Strong documentation habits and ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with ESD-safe handling and ISO-based quality systems., * BTEC, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electronics or a related field.
- Experience with embedded systems and firmware testing.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
