Job DescriptionAzure Platform Engineer | Azure, Terraform & Kubernetes | High-Impact Cloud Consulting Salary: £75,000-£100,000, depending on Senior or Principal levelLocation: Hybrid working - minimum 1 day per month in the London officeRequirement: UK Security Clearance eligibility requiredPermanent, full-time position We're hiring Senior and Principal Azure Platform Engineers to join a fast-growing cloud and platform engineering consultancy delivering large-scale enterprise and public sector programmes. This is a hands-on consulting role where you'll design and build modern Azure platforms, work closely with client engineering teams, and rotate across varied projects. The business is scaling rapidly across Azure, AWS, data & AI, and software engineering, offering a genuine growth phase with scope to influence standards and direction., As an Azure Platform Engineer, you will sit at the heart of cloud transformation programmes. Depending on level:Senior: you'll focus on hands-on delivery, building robust Azure platforms and landing zones.Principal: you'll remain deeply technical while also shaping architecture, mentoring engineers, and contributing to early-stage solution design and pre-sales.In this role, you will:Design and build Azure platform foundations and landing zones.Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native delivery.Enable application teams to adopt DevOps and cloud-native best practices.Work through full consulting lifecycles: discovery, design, build, and handover.Engage directly with client stakeholders, running workshops and explaining technical designs.There is no long-term operations or maintenance work - this is about building platforms properly, then moving on to the next challenge.

Requirements

Non-NegotiablesAzure cloud engineering experience in production environments.Terraform infrastructure as code (this is essential).Strong CI/CD and automation mindset.Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and scalable design.Comfortable working in client-facing consulting environments.Eligibility for UK security clearance (British citizen or ILR, UK resident for the last 5 years). What You'll Work WithMicrosoft Azure platform engineering.Terraform infrastructure as code.CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).Kubernetes platforms (AKS exposure preferred).Cloud-native security and networking patterns. Nice to HavesPrevious experience in cloud or DevOps consultancies.Kubernetes expertise beyond the basics.Experience rotating across multiple client projects.Enjoyment of mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards.
