Job description

  • Collaborate with a new data team to establish a secure, scalable, cloud-native data platform.
  • Develop and maintain robust, governed, production-grade pipelines within a government-regulated environment.
  • Utilize AWS-native tooling including Glue, S3, Step Functions, Lambda, and EventBridge.
  • Implement data quality, monitoring, and validation frameworks.

We are SR2 Consulting, and we have an exciting new opportunity with a government department, looking to establish a new data capability from the ground up. Youll work in a modern, multi-cloud environment utilizing cutting-edge AWS-native tooling. This high-impact role focuses on enabling better intelligence, reporting, and operational decision-making while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in AWS cloud-native data engineering, including Glue, S3, Step Functions, EventBridge, Lambda, SNS/SQS, IAM.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building data pipelines across AWS and/or Azure (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Spark).
  • Strong SQL development skills and experience working with diverse datasets.
  • Experience implementing data quality, monitoring, and validation frameworks.
  • Proven ability to build scalable, secure, well-documented pipelines in cloud environments.
  • Valid SC clearance.
  • AWS certifications (advantageous).
  • Experience with real-time event-driven patterns (e.g., EventBridge, Kinesis).
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps/CI-CD tooling and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK).
  • Experience supporting visualization and BI environments.
  • Understanding of data governance, security baselines, and working within regulated environments.
