Job description
- Develop and maintain Python automation scripts to support security operations and incident response.
- Support security tooling and automation platforms used within a Security Operations (SOC) environment.
- Assist with configuration and maintenance of Linux-based systems, security hardening and patching.
- Build and support API integrations between internal systems and third-party security tools.
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure integrations and system design activities.
- Assist with incident detection, investigation and response automation.
- Produce technical documentation and operational runbooks.
- Keep up to date with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and security best practices.

Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Technology or similar
- Programming experience with Python (commercial, academic or personal projects)
- Understanding of cyber security fundamentals, secure coding and basic networking concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and team collaboration skills
- Exposure to Linux environments (Desirable)
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible (Desirable)
- Knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations (Desirable)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) (Desirable)
- Awareness of security tools, SOC operations or SIEM platforms (Desirable)
- Containerisation knowledge (Docker) (Desirable)
- Cyber security certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, equivalent) (Desirable)
