Job description

  • Develop and maintain Python automation scripts to support security operations and incident response.
  • Support security tooling and automation platforms used within a Security Operations (SOC) environment.
  • Assist with configuration and maintenance of Linux-based systems, security hardening and patching.
  • Build and support API integrations between internal systems and third-party security tools.
  • Contribute to cloud infrastructure integrations and system design activities.
  • Assist with incident detection, investigation and response automation.
  • Produce technical documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Keep up to date with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and security best practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Technology or similar
  • Programming experience with Python (commercial, academic or personal projects)
  • Understanding of cyber security fundamentals, secure coding and basic networking concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and team collaboration skills
  • Exposure to Linux environments (Desirable)
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations (Desirable)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) (Desirable)
  • Awareness of security tools, SOC operations or SIEM platforms (Desirable)
  • Containerisation knowledge (Docker) (Desirable)
  • Cyber security certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, equivalent) (Desirable)
