Job description
We are looking for a motivated student (m/f/d) for thesis (Bachelor/Master) in the area of time series databases to support our Cloud Applications team in Ulm. You will develop a concept and implementation of a data pipeline to store time series data in the context of a fleet management application., * Research and evaluation of different time series database technologies with respect to the product requirements and performance-related aspects
- Development of a performance-optimized data model for storing machine telemetry data
- Implementation of a backend service for storing incoming telemetry data in a suitable time series database using the developed data model
- Development of a strategy for migrating existing time series data to the new data model
- Performance evaluation of the developed solution
Requirements
Do you have experience in Kubernetes?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Hands-on experience with databases, ideally time series databases
- First experience in programming languages such as C# or Go
- Basic knowledge in container technologies like Docker and ideally Kubernetes
- Ideally first experience with data streaming & messaging technologies like Apache Kafka/Redpanda/MQTT
- Strong ability to work goal-oriented and independently while being aligned with the development team
- Profound communication skills in both German and English
