Senior Java Developer

• In this role, you will develop RESTful Java APIs, integrating with databases and third-party APIs such as payment gateways. You will be responsible for writing readable, maintainable, and well-tested code to ensure long-term scalability. You'll collaborate with BAs, QAs, and client teams to deliver optimal solutions and identify and remove bottlenecks in the software delivery process. Additionally, you will take the lead in mentoring, sharing knowledge, and providing technical upskilling within the team while handling complex client communications professionally. You will also define and oversee the technical implementation of client projects.

• I am looking for a Senior Java Developer who has strong experience in Java API development, including ORM storage. You should have a passion for knowledge sharing and team mentorship as well as a strong advocacy for best engineering practices like code reviews, paired programming, and automated testing. Experience in the Betting/Gaming industry would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with cloud services and CI/CD pipelines is a bonus.

This is a 6-month contract position outside IR35, with a rate of £400 per day. The role offers flexibility with the option to work remotely from the UK or in a hybrid setup in Edinburgh or Leeds.
