Job description
We're recruiting a hands on Network Installation Engineer with strong Cisco experience to join a leading luxury Home Automation and AV integrator in London.
This is a delivery focused, site based role for someone who enjoys physically building networks, installing infrastructure, and getting systems live. It is not an IT support, service desk, or BAU network admin position.
You'll be working on high end residential projects where network reliability, structure, and installation quality are critical to the overall system.
The role
You'll be responsible for the physical installation and commissioning of network infrastructure across luxury residential sites. Working closely with AV, automation, and project teams, you'll help deliver robust, well documented networks that underpin complex smart home systems.
This role suits someone practical, methodical, and comfortable working on site rather than behind a desk.
What you'll be doing
Installing network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points Rack and stack of Cisco network equipment Structured cabling patching, dressing, and presentation Terminating copper and fibre where required Carrying out basic Cisco configuration to predefined designs and templates Supporting commissioning and site handover Working from drawings, schematics, and method statements Liaising with Project Managers and Lead Engineers on site Completing installation records and site documentation Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
Requirements
Proven experience as a Network Installation Engineer or Network Installer Strong hands on experience installing Cisco network hardware Comfortable working in comms rooms and data cabinets Understanding of core IP networking concepts Experience following structured network designs Knowledge of structured cabling standards Ability to fault find physical network issues on site High attention to detail and pride in tidy infrastructure, Proven hands-on experience installing Cisco network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls) CCNA or equivalent networking knowledge ECS or CSCS card for site access Strong understanding of structured cabling standards and IP networking fundamentalsDesirable / Nice-to-Have:
AV networking knowledge (Dante, AV over IP) Experience with fibre termination and copper cabling Wireless networking certifications (e.g., CWNA) Manufacturer-specific Cisco training or advanced workshops CompTIA Network+ or other vendor-neutral networking certification
