Job description
- Support the Security team in installing, configuring, and updating servers and software components
- Validate engineering designs for JSP 453 compliance and provide supporting documentation
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Design, and Security teams to identify security risks and recommend mitigations
- Advise on benefits of emerging cyber security technologies, presenting recommendations and conducting cost/risk analyses
- Conduct product selections against complex requirements, focusing on performance, cost, and time
- Contribute security engineering insights for the implementation of various technologies
- Ensure compliance with security policies and frameworks relevant to the organization
- Engage in high-pressure project timelines and deliver results
- Assist in writing and analyzing technical requirements
- Collaborate as part of a large technical team to enhance security measures

Requirements
- Infrastructure access control including Ubuntu and/or Linux system administration
- LDAP design and management
- RADIUS / TACACS configuration
- Significant experience in security engineering for installation, configuration, maintenance, administration, and support of related solutions
- Experience in administration of PKI hierarchy
- Familiarity with security policy frameworks like NIST CSF and ISO 27001
- Experience with MoD Secure by Design concepts
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi 8, VCentre 8)
- Understanding of network infrastructure including CISCO IOS-XE, CISCO ASA, BGP, VRF/MPLS, VPN, QoS
- Clear understanding of JSP 604/453 network security compliance
- Relevant cyber security qualifications (e.g., CompTIA Security, GIAC Security Essentials)
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and within complex organizations
- Experience in delivering accredited secure solutions in the public sector
- Experience in Agile (SAFE4) and Waterfall projects
- In-date professional registration with APMG or CIISec is desirable
- Candidates must hold a DV clearance or current SC and be willing to undergo security vetting
