Job description

  • As a C++ Software Engineer in our Electronic Warfare Operations Support Group (EWOS), your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Developing toolsets, models, and integration activities within our in-house simulation framework (ITASE)
  • Incorporating or adapting existing Dstl data/models into studies
  • Linking libraries, developing from theory, and re-coding existing algorithms and data
  • Understanding and aligning assumptions and data across components
  • Implementing the interactions of multiple entities in a scenario

Requirements

  • We are looking for candidates with a strong background in modeling and simulation software development, particularly in C++. Essential qualifications include:
  • Strong C++ programming skills
  • Experience with Visual Studio/Windows development tools
  • Knowledge of RF, countermeasure, and flyout simulation tools, preferably in a defense context
  • Expertise in radar systems
  • A background in physics, engineering, or mathematics
  • Clear communication skills to explain and adapt models
  • Supporting skills that would enhance your application include:
  • RF system knowledge and/or broader systems engineering experience
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis and visualization
  • Experience with MATLAB / Simulink
  • Familiarity with Defense/Air Platform protection systems and threat systems (such as SAMs, IADS, Sensors, FPVs)
  • Potential to support Operational Analysis study work
  • Non-negotiables:
  • Due to the highly secure nature of our projects, you must be a UK National and eligible to work in the UK, as well as eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government SC-level security clearance.
