Job description
Experienced web developer wanted to take ownership of a network of bespoke websites and a custom-built internal CRM system within the UK double glazing and home-improvement sector.
This is not a template-based role. You'll be responsible for building, maintaining and evolving websites and internal systems that directly support sales, operations and customer experience.
The Role
You will work closely with the Director to design, build and maintain a suite of bespoke websites and an in-house CRM platform. The role suits someone who enjoys problem-solving and improving real systems that are actively used every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop bespoke, high-quality websites and. custom-built internal CRM system
- Manage a network of websites ensuring consistency, performance and scalability
- Build and maintain shopping cart and checkout functionality
- Improve and maintain existing projects as they evolve
- Collaborate directly with the Director on technical feasibility and architecture
- Support technical SEO including page speed, schema, structure and metadata
- Assist with Google product listings, keyword optimisation and buyer-journey improvements
- Ensure websites are fully responsive across desktop, tablet and mobile
- Manage security, backups, updates and hosting environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Design and maintain MySQL relational databases
- Contribute ideas both technically and creatively to improve systems and workflows
Requirements
Do you have experience in jQuery?, * Strong commercial experience developing and maintaining bespoke websites
- Advanced knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
- Experience using Bootstrap
- Experience with custom CRM or internal business systems
- Experience building or maintaining e-commerce functionality
- Strong understanding of MySQL and relational database design
- Familiarity with hosting environments such as cPanel
- Good working knowledge of technical SEO best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- High attention to detail and pride in delivering clean, reliable solutions
