A vacancy for a Space Systems Electrical Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Madrid (Getafe). The successful applicant will join the Electrical Systems Engineering Department (TSEOE7).
The Electrical Architect will contribute to specifying, decomposing, developing and integrating electrical and electronic systems and sub-systems for satellite platforms and payloads (including active antennas), and for applications including Telecommunications, Earth Observation, Science and Navigation. He/she will work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team and will contribute to the on-cost, on-time and on-quality product delivery to customer.
Tasks & accountabilities
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Under the coordination of the System Engineering Manager, manage all technical aspects related to electrical sub-systems and equipment, with especial focus on electrical power sub-systems.
- Perform an electrical system architecture breakdown, define technical requirements for the composing equipment, elaborate and maintain requirement specifications for on-board sub-systems and equipment.
- Define system verification and validation strategy, prepare system test specifications and maintain the verification control documentation.
- Manage the detailed electrical aspects, such as electrical interfaces, harness, power budget, power distribution, grounding and EMC.
- Support the Procurement Team in performing the technical follow-up of the subcontracted equipment development, including their embedded HW/SW sub-developments (FPGA, ASIC, SW), and in the assessment of technical risks and RFD/RFW.
- Support the AIT Team in the definition and technical follow-up of the required test systems, in the preparation of system integration and test activities, and in the review of test reports, with especial focus on electrical power, thermal and EMC tests.
- Support the Quality Team in the investigation of anomalies and non-conformances, providing technical support in NRBs.
- Elaborate technical documentation, deliver technical presentations, and contribute to technical proposals.
- Support the project technical reviews (including electrical schematics and analysis), and conduct and lead the technical reviews to equipment suppliers.
- Work in close collaboration with other engineering disciplines (e.g. thermal, mechanical, harness) involved in the system development throughout the whole lifecycle.

Requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Educated to degree level in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Proven experience (> 5 years) required in:
- Space system projects
- Requirements management
- Subcontractor technical management
- Satellite electrical sub-systems and equipment
- Electronics design and EMC engineering in accordance to ESA standards (ECSSs)
- Electronics Analysis (Failure Modes and Effects, Parts Stress, Worst Case, Safety, Hazard) in accordance to ESA standards (ECSSs)
- English advanced level.
- Spanish advanced level.

Experience with Altium design tools and programming in Python., We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
