Job DescriptionMy client, a top-tier proprietary trading firm, is seeking a Trading Systems Operator to support a low-latency trading desk in London., Sitting close to live trading, you will work alongside traders, software engineers, and network engineers to ensure the reliability and performance of latency-sensitive trading platforms. Your responsibilities will include incident response, root cause analysis, system upgrades, and continuous improvement of monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience operating and supporting Linux-based production systems, with strong Python and scripting skills used to automate operational workflows and tooling. While prior trading experience is not essential, a solid understanding of real-time, distributed systems and a strong interest in financial markets is key., You will be comfortable operating at the command line, troubleshooting issues under pressure, and debugging systems written in multiple programming languages. A strong grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, latency, packet loss) and experience working across multiple datacenters or environments will be critical to success. This is a highly visible role within a fast-paced trading environment, offering direct exposure to live markets and production systems. The ideal candidate will be curious, detail-oriented, and driven to improve systems and processes through automation and technical rigor.
