Job description

  • Manage and enhance Microsoft Cloud platforms like M365 and Azure.
  • Ensure performance, security, compliance, and reliability in operations.
  • Collaborate on IT projects and develop sustainable cloud architectures., SVA Zurich is on the path from a classic service desk organization to a modern and controlling IT. As a System Engineer Cloud Platforms, you are responsible for the setup, operation, and targeted further development of our cloud and workplace platforms with a focus on Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra. You act as the technical owner of our cloud services and develop a sustainable, secure, and future-proof cloud architecture together with the team. In doing so, you combine solid system engineering with a modern DevOps and automation approach. You can expect an exciting mix of operations, projects, and creative freedom.

Your role and your tasks.

Cloud & Workplace Platforms

Responsibility for operation, further development, and standardization of Microsoft cloud platforms (M365, Azure, Entra)

Ensuring availability, performance, security, and compliance

Technical ownership for defined services including 2nd and 3rd level support

Automation & Operation

Automation of operational and administrative processes (e.g., PowerShell, Azure Automation)

Establishment and maintenance of standards, documentation, and operational processes

Monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization of the platforms

Projects & Collaboration

Participation in IT and digitalization projects throughout the entire lifecycle

Taking on partial project responsibility (analysis, design, implementation, handover to operations)

Technical interface between departments, IT, and external service providers

Architecture & Further Development

Participation in the conception, planning, and implementation of cloud scenarios

Evaluation of new technologies and translation into viable target architectures

Close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external IT partners

Requirements

  • Higher education in IT with at least five years of experience.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Experience in automation and scripting, like PowerShell., * Completed higher education in computer science (HF/FH) or comparable qualification
  • At least five years of professional experience in system or cloud engineering
  • Very good knowledge in operating Microsoft 365 (Enterprise) and Microsoft Azure / Entra ID/IAM
  • Experience in operating modern workplace and cloud environments
  • Practical experience in automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Git)
  • Basic understanding of IT security, data protection, and compliance
  • Independent, structured, and responsible
  • Analytical, solution-oriented, and decisive
  • Communicative and a team player - also across organizational boundaries
  • Interest in modernization, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Enjoy actively shaping an IT organization
