Job description

  • As our Test Release and Support Engineer, I will expect you to support manual testing and the factory release of our endpoint security software products. You will be responsible for triaging, investigating, and documenting issues raised by HP's testing teams using Jira and our internal tools. You will act as a liaison between testers, developers, and product managers to resolve issues. Additionally, I will need you to manage software releases to the testing and factory teams, including ongoing management, configuration, and production of supporting artefacts. Maintenance and development of internal process and system documentation will also be part of your responsibilities.

Requirements

  • I require a candidate with at least 1 year of experience in technical support, preferably with log analysis. A good understanding of Windows, including applications like MS Office suites and system tools such as the registry and event viewer, is essential. You should be a confident command line user and have hands-on experience with ticketing software, particularly Jira. Familiarity with standard software development methodologies would be beneficial.
  • The following skills and attributes are a plus:
  • Commercial software testing experience, including writing test cases
  • Experience in managing test infrastructure and environments
  • Knowledge of a programming language such as PowerShell, Python, or C#
  • Experience with remote connectivity solutions like TeamViewer and working with globally distributed development teams
  • Familiarity with a hardware-led environment

This role is a 12-month contract located onsite in Cambridge (CB4 0WZ), with a rate of £25 per hour via umbrella.
