Job description

  • Reporting to the SharePoint Squad Lead, the SharePoint Engineer will work under the technical guidance of the SharePoint Technical Lead to deliver and support Enterprise SharePoint across BAE Systems UK & RoW
  • Work closely with internal customers across all UK Business helping to capture requirements for Business-as-Usual improvements to their SharePoint deployments, developing innovative solutions then delivering against agreed work packages. Whilst ensuring all SharePoint deployments and developments adhere to internal Governance
  • Utilises methods, tools, techniques, selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches
  • Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information. Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure effectiveness of stakeholder management
  • Assists in the development of new or improved practices and organisational processes or standards and facilitates localised improvements to the quality system or services, The team consist of 30 people, who are responsible for the Delivery of SharePoint 2016 / 2019 and SharePoint Online to all BAE Systems UK, KSA and international Business, we manage the Service with our Service Providers and manage service and support from 3rd party suppliers such as Microsoft, Boost, KwizCom and Quest.

The team manage the relationship with the 10 UK Business who use our 5 Enterprise SharePoint environments. We are responsible for deploying the strategic roadmap for SharePoint including major upgrades, Business Change Requests, configuration changes as well as supporting end users in site creation and management.

Requirements

  • Best practice application management in line with ITIL Processes
  • Extensive experience of working with the multiple versions of SharePoint and 3rd party tools such as but not limited to Nintex, K2, Sharegate, Link fixer
  • An understanding of application development and promotion into multiple environments
  • A good level of experience in supporting the delivery of projects and large change requests

Desirable:

  • Trained at least to ITIL foundation and either appropriate ITIL Intermediate or other appropriate capability training (desirable)
  • Be trained using Microsoft MS900 AZ900 (desirable)
