Job description
Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer II to play a pivotal role on the Apex Rebalancer engineering team, who is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Apex's best in class real-time automated portfolio rebalancing solution. You will leverage your expertise to contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architectural design to implementation, testing, and deployment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient software products that meet the needs of our users and business objectives., * Trading System Integration: Develop and maintain multi-broker integrations with trading platforms for order management and trade execution
- ETL Pipeline Development: Design and maintain secure, scalable ETL pipelines for processing financial data from custodian platforms (Apex, Ascend)
- Microservices Architecture: Build and maintain microservices managed by Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and resilience.
- API Development: Design and implement clean, consistent APIs for internal and external use, ensuring they meet functional and reliability standards.
- Team Growth and Mentoring: Actively participate in the recruitment and training of new team members. Mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation in our Belfast office.
- Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement best practices in software design and development, including DevSecOps, continuous integration (CI), and trunk-based development.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software development?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience) required.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a demonstrated ability in a multi-person team setting.
- Production level experience with Python is required (Django and Boto library experience are nice to have).
- Experience with other programming languages like Java or Go are nice to have also., * Software Architecture: Strong understanding of distributed and event-driven architectures.
- Deep experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, API Gateway, IAM)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or similar tools
- Hands-on experience with ETL pipelines (batch and/or real-time) and data processing at scale
- Monitoring & Observability: Experience with logging, metrics, and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus)
- Exposure to portfolio analytics and benchmarking tools is nice to have.
