Job description

  • Assess current data management practices, identify gaps, and help develop an updated, DFG-compliant data governance strategy.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the consortium's data management workflows, including open-source software development where needed.
  • Ensure smooth operation of all workflow components, including SODAR (web GUI, REST API, CLI tools) and its underlying systems (iRODS, ISA metadata model).
  • Manage data transfer and access within the consortium, including authorization and permissions.
  • Ensure metadata and data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency).
  • Maintain a library of sample sheet templates using controlled vocabularies and ontologies, in collaboration with researchers.
  • Maintain DFG-compliant SOPs and coordinate training and guidance for researchers.

Requirements

Do you have experience in UNIX?, Do you have a Master's degree?, Master's degree (or Bachelor's +

  • 5 years experience) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of modern OMICS datasets and the FAIR principles.
  • Experience with data governance, research data management, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale scientific data, metadata handling, Unix-like environments, and programming (preferably Python); database skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work with and extend an existing code base (Git or similar).
  • Understanding of research culture, scientific information management, and Open Science standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; German language skills are an advantage.

Das Universitätsklinikum Regensburg (UKR) ist eines der modernsten Universitätsklinka in Deutschland und medizinischer Höchstversorger im ostbayerischen Raum. Wir widmen uns der medizinischen Versorgung von Patienten auf dem höchsten gegenwärtig denkbaren Niveau und halten dafür 839 Betten und 52 tagesklinische Behandlungsplätze bereit.
