Job description
Moog Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our growing business unit. This role will support requirements management, engineering documentation, and systems integration activities for flight actuation and related commercial aircraft systems. You will report to the Moog Commercial Aircraft Systems and Software Engineering Manager in East Aurora, New York. As a Systems Engineer, you will focus on the development of next-generation commercial aircraft solutions. Your primary tasks may include requirements management; creation of system architecture; performance prediction; system analysis; integration, verification and validation planning. Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain system and subsystem requirements in the requirements management tool; create, review, and update requirements; maintain bidirectional traceability to design, verification, and test artifacts.
- Prepare and update specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), design justification documents, and verification matrices to the company's configuration management standards.
- Develop test plans and procedures in support of requirements verification and system qualification, gather evidence for compliance, and prepare test summaries and verification reports.
- Assist in planning, executing, and documenting integration and test activities in lab and in-house test rigs. Create test scripts to support automated testing of systems. Record test results and support anomaly tracking and closure.
- Drive successful real-time system model integration, in order to support a variety of test environments at both system and unit level.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Simulink?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor of Science in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Software Engineering (or related discipline).
- 4+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or another regulated industry.
- Experience with requirements management; integration, test, modeling and simulation methods; and control system design and verification.
- Some travel may be required; approximately 10% per year to visit customers, vendors, or other Moog sites.
Desirable Skills and Tools:
- Familiarity with ARP4754/DO-178 with concepts or working knowledge of safety-critical development life cycles.
- MATLAB/Simulink familiarity for signal/data analysis and modeling.
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
- Hands-on lab/test experience: bench integration, wiring, data acquisition, and basic instrumentation.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Teamcenter) and issue trackers (JIRA).
