Job description

Summary As a Head of Technical Programme Management you will drive the execution of product solutions within M&S owning supplier delivery where applicable. You will successfully be responsible for the various stages of highly visible sophisticated Programmes of work.

The role will report to the Senior Head of Delivery within Technology responsible for all FH&B Delivery. It will focus on the Commercial area of the business responsible for Digital Product Creation, Product Master Data Maintenance, Traceability/Sustainability of Products and the support and maintenance of planning Systems (circa £20m spend in total). Fundamentally it will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex technology solutions that drive the efficiency and effectiveness of this area. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in agile methodologies and technical program management to ensure the successful execution of large-scale initiatives.   • Agile Methodologies: Implement and advocate for standard process agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, DevOps) to optimise value delivery and improve team performance.
  • Technical Strategy: Define and drive the technical strategic direction for the supply chain and logistics platform, demonstrating market-leading expertise to propose bold, innovative directions.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate risks by implementing standard methodology mechanisms, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Build Trust-Based Partnerships: Foster a no-blame culture where teams are accountable for their actions and decisions. Work closely with C-Suite partners to share risks, showcase ideas, and harness capabilities to address business challenges., Supporting colleagues connected to the Armed Forces, aiding their transition to civilian life, and ensuring that they thrive in the workplace., Fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture, addressing stigma, providing guidance and raising awareness to empower and assist colleagues affected by cancer.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Program management?, * Critical Thinking: Ability to align project delivery with organisational goals and anticipate future challenges.

  • Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to direct, lead, and deliver solutions that go beyond existing ways of doing things.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership and talent development skills, with the ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships.
  • Extensive Experience: Consistent track record in delivering large-scale initiatives across multiple product functions and domains.
  • Technical Leadership: Strong technical foresight with experience in leading technical program management during all phases of software development.
