Job description

This role is all about building our client-facing websites and funnels - running experiments, running analytics, and growing our customer base as we continue to expand in the US.

On a daily basis you'll be working alongside designers, product managers, copywriters and the wider engineering group.

As an engineer in growth, you'll be responsible for our US websites and customer funnel on lawhive.com. You'll be responsible for delivering growth results end to end, including analytics, user exploration, content management, web development, A/B testing, deployment and monitoring in production. You'll balance working experimentally at high pace against maintaining production-quality care and attention. You'll have a lot of exposure to design decisions for our branding, funnels and sites.

You'll be working with our US team and be required to work with an overlap in US hours in GMT-6.

A day at Lawhive as an engineer might look something like:

  • 9:30am: Team updates in standup
  • 10am: Review experiment analytics and user recordings to identify points of friction
  • 11am: Review a tech plan for a key change to our systems
  • 11:30-5pm: Heads down execution - Our core website stack is a NextJS website using Sanity CMS
  • 4pm-5pm: Join our fortnightly engineering meeting to hear about other teams' updates, share what your team has been working on, and listen to a deep-dive talk

Our tech stack and day to day tools are:

  • TypeScript for the majority of our applications, frontends, and services
  • AWS for our cloud infrastructure
  • Vercel for our hosting infrastructure
  • Sanity CMS as our content management system
  • Posthog as our analytics platform
  • Terraform for defining infrastructure as code

Requirements

  • You have strong experience working with TypeScript and React to build customer websites and conversion funnels on the web
  • You care about great design, and have a high attention to detail
  • You are metrics focused, quantitative and experience with analytics tools and running A/B experiments.
  • You have experience running services in production and responding to incidents
  • You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and you thrive when given the ownership to bring clarity to what we're building
  • You have a user focus and are excited by the idea of learning more about our customers and shaping your work to make our sites better for them
  • You consider yourself an expert in one area of software engineering are excited by the idea of sharing that expertise with the rest of the team
