Job description
- Overall solution design and product selection;
- Technical discovery: working closely with the customer, arranging the requirements, figuring out the opportunities and the limitations;
- Supporting the sales team during onboarding of potential new customers;
- Technical presentations, demos, screencasts to sales and customers;
- Reporting to the product management team about what improvements should be made to our product roadmap;
- Managing stock availability and deployment timelines together with the vendors and the supply chain managers;
- Learning about new products and technologies in the hosting infrastructure industry;
- Working in Guildford at least 4 days a week, as well as during business trips to customer sites and sales events.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (cloud, on-prem, hybrid);
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP);
- Confident presenter with customer-facing experience;
- Knowledge of networking, security, and system architecture. VLAN, RAID, CPU and hardware design, IP networking, IP routing and BGP;
- Ability to design scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions;
- Ability to create technical documentation and architecture diagrams;
- Ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences;
- Confident presenter with customer-facing experience;
- Strong collaboration skills with sales, engineering, and product teams;
- Customer-focused mindset with a problem-solving approach;
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities in parallel;
- A fluent English speaker.
Nice-to-have requirements:
- Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent experience;
- Terraform: Hands-on experience in writing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates for automating resource deployments;
- Already working as a Solution Architect;
- Experience with baremetal servers hardware;
- Basic scripting;
- STEM bachelor degree.
Benefits & conditions
40 hours per week (9am to 6pm, including one hour of unpaid break), Mondays to Thursdays - office based; Fridays - Work from home.
Flexible-working will be considered (2 WFH days a week) following completion of probational period.
