Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, develop, and maintain a modern, cloud-based data platform on Microsoft Azure for a large-scale financial services environment, supporting critical data workloads for the Swiss Stock Exchange. The role involves leading legacy-to-cloud migrations, driving data transformation initiatives, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an agile setup.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in building and maintaining data pipelines on public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred) or Big Data platforms such as Hadoop / Cloudera
- Strong expertise in relational databases and advanced SQL
- Hands-on experience with:
- Azure Databricks
- Apache Spark
- Azure Data Factory
- NoSQL data stores
- Data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical)
- Solid understanding of Data Warehousing and Big Data architectures
- Experience working in Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe)
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
