Job description
We are looking for a Google Cloud Administrator to support cloud operations for the United Nations , contributing to the delivery and continuous improvement of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. This role sits within the Cloud Operations and Platform Service Unit (OPDA) and offers the opportunity to work in a distributed, international environment , collaborating with cloud specialists across Europe.
You will play a hands-on role in operating, maintaining, and evolving Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, supporting modern cloud-native architectures and ensuring reliable service delivery.
Responsibilities:

Build, manage, and operate scalable GCP solutions using automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Ensure availability, performance, security, and cost optimization of cloud resources

Ensure all GCP solutions comply with established security standards

Use and administer DevOps toolchains , including code repositories and CI/CD pipelines

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support cloud and platform services

Administer and maintain Linux-based systems in cloud and hybrid environments

Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads , ensuring scalability and reliability

Collaborate on cloud migration and transition activities, validating technical designs and supporting implementation

Produce and maintain technical documentation such as architecture diagrams, standards, and runbooks

Support incident, problem, and change management , including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, * Minimum 3 years of relevant IT experience , with strong exposure to Google Cloud Platform

Hands-on experience supporting and operating GCP services

Experience with application modernization , including containerization, APIs, and microservices

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g. GitLab)

Experience administering Linux systems and configuration management tools such as Ansible

Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively in a distributed team
Nice to have

Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools

Knowledge of cloud security best practices , including IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks

Experience managing RDBMS databases

Understanding of ITIL service management practices

Strong customer-facing skills, with the ability to assess requirements and propose suitable technical solutions

Google Cloud certifications and/or ITIL certification
