Job description
We are seeking a second enthusiastic, proactive, and highly capable Lead ICT Technician to join our dedicated Whole School ICT Team to provide staff and students with an exemplary customer experience.
Working closely with the ICT Helpdesk and the Network Managers, you will take responsibility for delivering high-quality, customer-focused support whilst managing, maintaining and developing ICT systems and services. This pivotal role acts as the bridge between 1st line and 3rd line support, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of ICT services across a dynamic and diverse school environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical foundations, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the drive to take ownership of more complex tasks and projects.

Experience & Background
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- At least 2-3 years' experience providing ICT Support within a similar position - experience of working in a school is not mandatory
- A solid technical understanding of end-user hardware such as desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, printers, AV theatres, projectors etc
- Experience of using and supporting common software such as Microsoft Windows, Office, Office365, Adobe Creative and Apple operating systems
- Be highly motivated and organised, allowing you to take ownership of tasks and correctly prioritise your workload
- Possess excellent written/verbal communication skills together with a desire to continuously learn
- Bring an attention to detail in everything you do and care passionately about your work
Duties
As a Lead ICT Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Minimising day-to-day disruption for teachers, support staff and students by resolving their ICT issues
- Supporting and maintaining hardware including PCs, laptops, Apple MacBook's & iMacs, printers, photocopiers, audio/visual systems, classroom screens, telephones, mobile phones, tablets and other end-user hardware
- Maintaining, developing and supporting the systems used to manage end user devices
- Troubleshooting and resolving software issues within applications, operating systems and systems used at the schools
- Being the face of the ICT department, taking calls and managing your workload on the ICT Helpdesk within the department's Service Level Agreements
- Maintaining accurate data and information relating to the ICT estate
This post is Regulated Activity.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time, full-year post. You will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The exact work pattern will be discussed at interview. In addition, you will also be required to work a maximum of four Saturdays per year from 08:00 to 13:00 with the time claimed back the following week. Occasionally, you may be required to support out-of-hours school events.
Salary
£32,031 per annum based on the above hours and weeks of work.

Pre-Appointment Checks
