Job description

You will take responsibility for strengthening cyber security posture across the group through proactive testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement of security controls., * Conducting internal and external penetration testing using a red team approach

  • Managing recurring vulnerability scanning across systems and services
  • Monitoring, analysing, and supporting the maintenance of security infrastructure
  • Producing clear, formal reports following penetration tests and assessments
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to security standards, tools, and controls
  • Supporting and, where required, leading cyber security incident response
  • Performing regular security reviews, audits, and risk assessments
  • Assessing access controls using least-privilege and need-to-know principles
  • Supporting Wi-Fi and network security testing at local sites
  • Applying security policies and identifying systems for decommissioning where appropriate
  • Participating in major incident management, including documentation and process creation
  • Contributing to IT and security policy development and continuous improvement

This role may require occasional travel to group locations and out-of-hours support during major incidents or business continuity events.

Requirements

Do you have experience in TCP/IP?, * Windows Desktop and Server environments

  • Active Directory and Group Policy Management
  • Linux administration
  • Vulnerability scanning and security monitoring tools (e.g. OpenVAS, Security Onion)
  • Offensive security tooling (e.g. Kali, Parrot)
  • Red team penetration testing methodologies
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model)
  • Infrastructure vulnerability assessment
  • Scripting or coding experience
  • Understanding of exploit development

Non-Technical Skills

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Exceptional written documentation and reporting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and discretion
  • Confident, collaborative, and able to challenge constructively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and within structured processes
  • Desire for continuous learning and professional development
