Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

VIQU have partnered with an organisation who are seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineerto help establish the core Azure and DevOps foundations required to take internal AI and software proof-of-concepts into controlled production.

The successful Senior Azure DevOps Engineerwill work closely with an internal AI/software development team and IT, to design and build a secure, scalable, and production-ready Azure platform.

Role responsibilities

• Design and implement a greenfield Azure platform to support AI and software development workloads
• Establish and formalise production-ready DevOps practices, including Azure DevOps pipelines and deployment standards
• Define and implement best practice for:

• CI/CD
• Infrastructure as Code
• Environment separation (sandbox, dev, test, prod)
• Security, identity, and governance guardrails
• Create a safe sandbox environment enabling developers to experiment without risk to production systems
• Work closely with AI/software developers and IT teams, acting as a bridge between development needs and operational/security requirements
• Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to internal teams as the platform matures

• Hands-on expertise designing and building Azure infrastructure and DevOps frameworks
• Proven experience with:

• Azure DevOps (pipelines, environments, automation)
• Infrastructure as Code (eg Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
• Multi-environment Azure platforms
• Solid understanding of Azure security, governance, and operational best practice
• Comfortable working in small or growing teams with limited existing platform capability
• Able to design, build, and deliver - not just advise
