Job description
- Identify and resolve root causes of data anomalies and sensor failures with the operations team
- Analyze time-series sensor data on power consumption with the embedded team
- Optimise the pump cycle time to maintain accurate measurements whilst reducing impact on our sensors
- Find trends in data that relate pipeline characteristics to sensor drift and damage
- Correlate weather data (rainfall, pressure, temperature) with landfill gas production trends, helping create the world's first predictive landfill gas capture algorithm
- Investigate how gas composition (methane vs. CO ) predicts yield and volatility
- Quantify how valve tuning across pipelines affects aggregate power production at landfill generator
- Discover cross-pipeline flow effects and interdependencies with the algorithm team
- Build reproducible pipelines, models, and dashboards for analytics and control strategies
- Identify the required data for successful algorithm implementation
- Collaborate with the CTO and algorithm team to translate findings into automation
Requirements
You are the problem-solving layer that connects all our teams. You love puzzles and get energized when complex datasets and unknowns are thrown at you. With a sharp analytical mind and passion for climate impact, you'll turn raw landfill data into predictive insights that help us extract more energy and cut emissions faster. From exploring time-series sensor data to uncovering cross-pipeline effects, you bring structure to chaos and clarity to decisions., You're a curious, data-driven problem solver who thrives where hardware meets data. You love extracting signal from noise and turning insights into impact.
- Strong Python skills; Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Stats, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, etc.
- Experienced with time-series data; processing, modeling, forecasting, anomaly detection
- Solid grasp of statistics, machine learning, and hypothesis testing
- Strong skills in data visualization and communicating findings
- Comfortable with APIs, large datasets, and cloud databases; AWS RDS, SQL, etc.
- Proactive, independent, and thrives under pressure
- Bonus points for experience with gas sensing, energy trading/forecasting, or IoT datasets
Benefits & conditions
What we offer
- Work that matters. You'll build systems that capture landfill methane, turn it into energy, and cut one of the world's biggest climate problems down to size. Real tech, deployed in the real world
- Amsterdam as home base. We're building both a product and a team, and for that you need to be in the room part of the week. How you manage that balance is up to you, but collaboration happens fastest in person.
- Upside that's real. We offer a competitive salary, growth opportunities, and meaningful stock options, because if we win, you should share in the value created
- Ownership from day one. The learning curve is steep, the feedback is direct, and we'll throw as much responsibility at you as you can handle. It's simple: the more you raise the standard, the more trust and ownership you earn
- Good times included. From free daily healthy lunches and Friday beers to team dinners and a ski trip in February, we work hard, but we also make time to celebrate the ride together
