Test Engineer

We have two exciting opportunities for Test Engineers working within our R&D Department in Dalgety Bay, Fife., In our Test Team you will bring your valuable experience to our established R&D Team whilst working within an Agile environment. We have two opportunities for a Test Engineer, one as a Test Engineer (Systems) where you will be involved in a dedicated team focussing on the system test of the latest release of the exciting and innovative products at VITEC. The other is a Test Engineer (Embedded) where you will be involved in a shift-left test process while embedded within one of our experienced cross functional development teams., * Test case design, execution & maintenance.

• Static & dynamic testing methodologies.
• Defect identification, reporting, triage & retesting.
• Test environment management.
• Documentation & reporting.
• Ability to follow the SDLC processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA process.

In addition to the above the individual roles will be responsible for:

Test Engineer (Systems)

• User Acceptance Testing.
• Collaboration within a multi-disciplined systems test team.
• Play a key role in the delivery of the latest and greatest VITEC products.
• Functional and non-functional test set up and maintenance.

Test Engineer (Embedded)

• Engage in a shift-left methodology.
• Collaboration with a cross functional team (working closely with the developers to understand requirements & functionality of the product.

Do you have experience in Test automation?, You will have:

• A background in manual testing.
• The ability to work independently.
• The ability to create test documentation.
• The ability to problem-solve, along with good organisational and analytical skills.
• Strong communication & team working skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
• Always keen to develop, learn and improve.
• A good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) & processes.
• In addition to this, both roles use Jira, Zephyr Scale & Aha! so knowledge of these would be an advantage but not essential.
• In addition the Test Engineer (Embedded) will have an understanding of shift-left testing and it would be desirable to have knowledge of test automation and knowledge of non-functional testing.
