Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Programmer to join our clients' ever-growing systems integration company. You will be at the heart of our operations, defining and implementing our clients' engineering practices, and play a key role in ensuring the quality of installations and client experience for our sites all over London and Greater London., * Lead the development and programming of Crestron control systems, ensuring they meet client specifications and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with system designers, engineers, and clients to translate requirements into effective control solutions.
  • Integrate various technologies such as AV equipment, lighting, climate control, security systems, and IT infrastructure within Crestron platforms.
  • Develop custom modules, scripts, and user interfaces using Crestron SIMPL Windows, SIMPL+ or other relevant programming languages.
  • Conduct system testing, debugging, and commissioning to ensure reliable operation across diverse environments.
  • Document system designs, configurations, and programming logic for future maintenance and upgrades.
  • Provide technical support during project installation and commissioning phases; troubleshoot issues proactively.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in system architecture, cybersecurity practices like cloud security and system hardening, and new Crestron features.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by implementing best practices in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes such as Agile and DevOps methodologies.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of system integration, solution architecture, and programming best practices, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance of complex AV and automation systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that require technical excellence and creative problem-solving., * Relevant experience within the industry, Good knowledge of high-end residential AV, control systems (Control 4, Crestron), Lutron / Crestron lighting, RF installations, Door Entry Systems, and network systems (Cisco, Ruckus)

  • The ability to read and work from schematic drawings is required and relaying any changes back to the design team in a clear and concise manner
  • You must be used to working both in an Engineering Team and broader project Teams, as well as at times working under your own initiative
  • A clean and current driving license, * Proven experience as a Crestron Programmer with a strong portfolio of completed projects demonstrating expertise in control system design.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including SIMPL Windows, SIMPL+
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure components like VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, AWS cloud services.
  • Solid understanding of computer networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS), operating systems (Windows/Linux), databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle), and web services including RESTful APIs and SOAP.
  • Experience with systems engineering concepts such as system hardening, vulnerability management, threat intelligence assessments, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to network configurations or system security vulnerabilities.

  • Overseeing the project installation process from start to finish, ensuring everything we do on-site is carried out to the highest standard
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and site teams to ensure everything is ready for our installation
  • Configuring and setting up a basic IT network including setting IP addresses for touch screens, cameras and intercom systems
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of writing, editing and uploading Lutron QS programs and a basic knowledge of Crestron / Control 4 system programming
  • Provide clients with training and demonstrations as well as provide technical support and remote assistance

Required knowledge and experience:

  • 2 years relevant experience within the industry, Good knowledge of high-end residential AV, control systems (Control 4, Crestron), Lutron / Crestron lighting, RF installations, Door Entry Systems, PBX style phone systems, and network systems (Cisco, Ruckus)
  • The ability to read and work from schematic drawings is required and relaying any changes back to the design team in a clear and concise manner
  • You must be used to working both in an Engineering Team and broader project Teams, as well as at times working under your own initiative
  • A clean and current driving license
