Job description
As an engineer in Civica's Platform Enablement team, you will play a key role in enabling our product development teams to adopt and thrive on Civica's internal developer platform. You'll work closely with engineers across the business, guiding them through onboarding, helping to unblock adoption challenges, and capturing feedback to shape the evolution of the platform. Acting as both a technical advisor and an advocate for platform best practices, you'll be instrumental in bridging the gap between platform capabilities and real-world engineering needs. This is a hands-on role that blends engineering expertise with communication and collaboration, ensuring our teams are empowered to deliver value to citizens with speed, safety, and confidence.
What you will be doing:

Consulting Civica's product engineers and product managers to facilitate their adoption of Civica's internal developer platform.

Collaborate with Civica's platform engineering engineers, providing them with developers' feedback, to help rapidly develop and iterate on our software and services.

Helping teams to improve older tech stacks & platforms utilising modern approaches

Acting as a subject matter expert for other colleagues

Actively influencing company-wide architecture

Proactively developing best practices within the platform community

Mentoring other platform engineers
Requirements
You will be an experienced Platform Engineer with the following skills:
- Migrating VM-based architectures to cloud-native
- At least one DevOps-friendly programming language such as Python or Go
- Large scale Platform as a Service
It would also be great if you have experience with:
- Microsoft Azure / Amazon Web Services
- Kubernetes
- K8s Operators
- Docker
- CI/CD
- Scripting & Automation
- Linux Administration
- Monitoring
- Networking
- Security
- DevOps Concepts & Practices
