Database Engineer 100% (all genders)

In the role of Application Engineer, you are part of our vision towards Automation and Digitalization in Production. You will be part of Software Engineering team within Industrial Engineering in Operations. In collaboration with members of other divisions (Automation, Production, Quality and Process Engineering), you will help shape and develop the future direction in terms of process automation & data management and drive forward the digitalization & standardization of the Urdorf site.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following activities:

  • You manage as administrator software solutions, interfaces applications for data management, databases, and MES/ERP interfaces in production with the aim of new modern systems integration and standardization.
  • You are responsible for the creation and management of databases in test and production environment.
  • You are responsible for the printing and labeling applications, layouts and printing server maintenance and support.
  • You are responsible for the ERP/MES data configuration, administration modifications, and users' management system.
  • You manage the software repositories, versioning system and interfaces with other applications.
  • You support projects for the industrialization on new/retrofit equipment in production for software, applications, and databases.
  • You act as 2nd level support for production issues and disturbances related to software, production application, databases, and equipment connectivity.
  • You ensure complete documentation, management, and maintenance of software solutions in production environment.

Requirements

  • You have a degree in computer science, preferably with experience in databases management and development and a fist relevant professional experience in an industrial environment.
  • You have a good understanding and a high affinity for IT solutions, SQL databases, and first experience with IoT (communication protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus) and SAP systems.
  • You have very good knowledge of database systems (e.g., with MSSQL, ODBC, MS Access etc.)
  • Your experience in Azure DevOps and git management is a big plus.
  • You have very good experience in management of data and databases, interfaces and applications.
  • You have a strong organizational personality with strong problem-solving, communication and analytical skills and enjoy interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • You have very good written and spoken English and German skills.
