Senior Web Engineer

What You'll Do

• Own the frontend development of our entire web stack - both the marketing site ( http://tandem.net ) and real-time web app ( http://app.tandem.net )
• Build and maintain features for our real-time chat application
• Implement technical SEO and GEO and accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.1)
• Manage and evolve our web component library, ensuring consistency across the UI
• Collaborate closely with product and marketing on features and rapid experimentation
• Report directly to the CTO and operate with a high degree of autonomy, We're a team of 30 people speaking 20 languages fluently between us. For those wanting to improve their German (or Denglisch!), you can join one of our German classes on us.

• 3+ years of professional JavaScript experience (both frontend and backend)
• Deep experience with Next.js in production environments
• Strong command of TypeScript
• Solid understanding of real-time web technologies (e.g., WebSockets, MQTT)
• A self-driven mindset and passion for ownership and delivery

Bonus Points For

• Familiarity with Google Analytics and Tag Manager
• Experience with headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and code quality tooling
• Background in application architecture
• Exposure to Kotlin
