As Engineering Lead Infrastructure, you play a key role in making sure this foundation is secure, scalable, and future-ready. What you'll do Eneco's infrastructure landscape is growing in scale and complexity. Cloud adoption is accelerating, security requirements are increasing, and more responsibility is shifting in-house. As Engineering Lead Infrastructure , you lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for cloud, hosting, and networking services. Your role is to ensure these services are reliable today and ready for tomorrow. The team is growing and building up as we plan to operate more roles in-house than today. You have a mix of senior content experience in the field, able to drive our strategic roadmap in this space, but also to help build and shape an expert team. You operate close to both technology and people. You guide engineers, work with suppliers, and partner with business stakeholders to deliver infrastructure solutions that support Eneco's digital ambitions - without compromising security, stability, or cost efficiency. This role requires hands-on technical leadership combined with a strategic mindset: knowing when to improve, when to standardize, and when to protect operational continuity. You Bring, + Leading, building and developing a small, high-performing infrastructure engineering team

  • Designing, operating, and Improving and operating cloud, hosting, and networking services

  • Ensuring infrastructure and platforms are secure, compliant, resilient, and cost-effective

  • Driving automation, E2E monitoring, standardization, and operational excellence

  • Managing multiple projects and external suppliers, driving optimization of costs and security

  • Translating business requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions

  • High availability, security, and performance, with minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • A solid foundation in infrastructure engineering and operations, backed by a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS), hosting environments, and networking concepts such as SD-WAN and SASE.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code, enabling scalable and repeatable solutions.
  • Proven experience leading small teams, managing projects, and working with external suppliers.
  • A strong understanding of security, compliance, and risk management in enterprise environments.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to translate technical complexity into actionable decisions.
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
