This is a junior IT role ideal for someone with hands-on enthusiasm, not necessarily a graduate. If you tinker with PCs, run home servers, explore networking, or like taking things apart to understand how they work - we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Primary Focus: Hosting & Operations
- Carry out daily operational checks across systems and infrastructure
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining systems across two datacentres
- Help manage renewals for domain names and digital certificates
- Support quarterly compliance activities (PCI DSS)
- Work with Cisco Firewall, Linux, Windows Server, and SQL Server environments
Secondary: Internal IT Support
- Support Windows desktop environments and Microsoft 365
- Perform basic networking and firewall configuration
- Commission and maintain PCs and laptops
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for colleagues
This role is designed to grow. Over time, you'll take on more advanced hosting and infrastructure responsibilities., Built or upgraded a PC Installed an operating system Used remote access tools (SSH, RDP, etc.) Set up a home server or NAS Configured a router, firewall or VLAN Run a virtual machine (e.g., VirtualBox, VMware, Hyper-V) Written scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) None of the above
Requirements
Do you have experience in VMware?, We have a strong preference for people who live locally., * A genuine passion for technology, infrastructure, and problem solving
- Someone who experiments: builds PCs, runs home labs, plays with Linux, networks, servers, etc.
- Curiosity and a desire to understand how things work
- Some coding/scripting ability
- Strong attention to detail and a creative, tenacious approach to challenges
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
Not essential:
- A degree - we care more about enthusiasm and hands-on experience
- Professional experience - if you've been learning at home, that counts
Benefits & conditions
- £22,500 - £32,500 per year, depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 7.5-hour shift between 8:00am and 6:30pm

Selection Process
- Selected applicants complete a 1 hour online assessment.
- Shortlisted candidates attend a 1 hour Microsoft Teams interview
