Thales brings a future in software intensive C4I (Command, Control, Communication, Computers and Intelligence) solutions. Due to significant growth we are recruiting for a Principle Solution Architect with knowledge of C4I and secure digital technologies, who can lead the development of cutting edge, innovative digital C4I solutions that meet our customers and business needs. The role will involve requirements/needs capture, concept of operations definition, problem analysis, trade studies, solution concepting, and solution definition and architecting with support to more detailed modelling and simulation, and engineering led design and development., As part of the IAS (Integrated Airspace Protection Systems) Solutions Team, the role will require both significant customer and internal organisation interaction, leading on a variety of C4I related technical solutions and solution architectures for different projects, bids and prospects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the architecting and development of our digital C4I solutions and products, focussed on our Enterprise Data Solutions portfolio.
- Working within agile teams defining C4I architectures, including concepts of operation, functional partitioning, and defining interfaces and data exchanges between sub-systems
- Maintaining an awareness of the latest developments in Digital Technology (e.g. Cloud and Edge Computing, Data Analytics/AI, Safe and Secure Data Architectures, Autonomy) and identifying how they can be exploited in our products and solutions
- Building long term relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers
- Proposal generation and cost estimating
- As Principle C4I Solution Architect, support the technical governance and coherence of all C4I solutions and ensuing coherence with capability and technical roadmaps
Requirements
- Experience working within Defence ideally in the C4ISTAR domain
- A track record of successfully defining and delivering solutions to customers
- Experience of working with sales/business development teams
This role will require DV clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full DV you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years' residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
