Job description

As a Junior Regulatory Data SQL Support Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that regulatory reporting is accurate, performant and on schedule in an ongoing BAU basis.

The Regulatory Data Support team is a crucial function, ensuring global regulatory compliance for our operations, and serving as first-line contact for live compliance and financial issues raised by regulatory bodies worldwide.

The team investigates and resolves regulatory inquiries by analysing diverse data sets, including customer accounts, betting slips, and financial transactions, whilst ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of regulatory reporting and submissions is in line with requirements.

The developers collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement corrective actions and maintain a proactive compliance posture.

Whilst working with the Regulatory Data team and the technical experts throughout the Business, you will have the chance to learn and grow in a hardworking, fast-paced environment., * Assisting in the identification, explanation and fixing of issues with specific data that has been returned by a process and raised by internal teams or regulators, using a variety of techniques on a number of disparate technologies.

  • Investigating, developing and refactoring failures in processes, typically SQL agent jobs or stored procedures.
  • Supporting in the deployment of solutions to the live environment.
  • Analysing and interpreting a wide range of different data relating to customer accounts, betting slips, banking transactions and gaming accounts.
  • Communicating with other departments within the Company to ensure full understanding of issues, whilst providing regular status updates on investigation and resolution.
  • Documenting incidents and contributing to the team's knowledgebase.
  • Using the ticketing system for incident management and resolution.
  • Assisting senior developers in performing root cause analysis on recurring data issues.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Detail-oriented, analytical and methodical approach to investigation.

  • Experience with SQL Server 2019, GCP, and BigQuery.
  • Experience of working with AI Tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate information around data variances and irregularities to both a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple streams of work, be comfortable with regular context switching and recalling information swiftly and accurately.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and SLAs for completion or escalation of tasks.
  • Passion for investigation and swift identification of root cause, with a thirst to drive efficiencies through process improvements.
  • Strong academic background including a minimum 2.1 Hons degree in Computer Science or an IT related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
