Are you a Platform / DevOps technologist with experience of building systems from scratch?
You could be progressing your career in a hands-on technical leadership role at a well established consumer facing financial services company that help people to manage debt, as they go through a technical transformation and scale-up following recent investment.
As the Lead Platform Engineer you will act as the design authority for the platform and hosting framework, working closely with software engineering teams, the Data Platform Lead, the Quality Engineering Lead and the Enterprise Architect to enable secure, high-velocity delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role - you will design, build and evolve the platform, making pragmatic decisions that ensure security, whilst building up operational excellence.
You will lead a small, high-impact platform team, operating as an enablement function rather than a gatekeeper. The platform exists to make the right thing easy: secure by default, observable by default and fast to deploy to and use., You'll be based in fantastic new offices in London that offer a wide range of facilities including wellness rooms and onsite gym for three days a week with flexibility to work from home twice a week.
Requirements
- You have strong experience in a Platform Engineer, DevOps Lead or SRE position with ownership of the end-to-end platform
- You have indepth hands-on experience with AWS, including multi-account strategies
- You have a strong knowledge of IaC, ideally AWS CDK (or Terraform)
- You have experience of designing and operating container platforms e.g. ECS / Fargate, Kubernetes
- You have experience with serverless and event driven architectures
- You have experience of building and operating CI/CD systems at scale
- You have strong experience with cloud security, audit and compliance controls and designing for observability, resilience and operational excellence
- You're collaborative and pragmatic, with great communication skills
