Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. This is a multi discipline team developing and supporting complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide., With the support and mentoring from our senior engineers:

  • Develop and execute test plans for the evaluation of early design concepts
  • Modifying and writing test scrips
  • Capture, analysis and reporting of test data and results
  • Setup and build of test rigs to support the rapid development cycles.
  • Undertake testing and debugging of our design, ensuring that the design meets the design specification
  • Recommending solutions.

Requirements

The role will involve the planning and execution of testing and the analysis and reporting of results using the latest technology and data driven continuous improvement principles. A Mechatronic / Software background is required with basic hands-on mechanical and electronics skills being advantageous.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player able to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, understand the importance of attention to detail and have excellent written and spoken communications skills.

Test Engineer

The successful candidate will be a highly focused, self-motivated individual who already has a keen interest in developing system tests and use of data to validate product performance. The successful candidate should have some knowledge and understanding of:

  • Test planning and execution
  • Data analysis and result reporting (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Test Software Scripting
  • Test Automation / Robotics
  • National Instruments LabVIEW software
  • Electromechanical systems
  • Basic mechanical and electronics practical skills (assembly, soldering etc.)
  • Basic understanding of motors, sensors and control, * Minimum HND/Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Software Engineering, Electronics, Computing or related subject
  • Relevant Work experience in a similar engineering role would be an advantage
