Job description

FryerMiles are delighted to be working with a leading public sector infrastructure organisation based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire to assist in their recruitment of a Security Architect to join their team on a 2 year contract.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Security Technical Architect in a corporate IS function and a background in delivering architecture components / compliance within an environment where systems and services are delivered via outsourced arrangements with key suppliers.

You will act as the design authority for projects and programmes, responsible for the compilation of the high level architecture to support programmes and their constituent projects based on the strategic vision

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Be the main design authority for projects and programmes
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to realise business benefits
  • Own the creation of high-level architecture, key components, and interfaces
  • Create solutions for ITS customers that is aligned to technical infrastructure requirements
  • Verifying that the detailed design, interfaces and technology align with CITO strategy
  • Ensure best practice for security standards are followed for all of Core Renewals projects.
  • Engage colleagues in other areas of DDAT to verify that the proposed design fits in with existing/proposed infrastructure, and where non-conformant, reconfigure or seek exception approval.
  • Manage stakeholder understanding and expectation regarding the design; confirming functionality meets business needs.
  • Direct third-party resources to develop the solution, acting as a point of clarification for complex design issues verifying that the end product remains on time, cost and quality target.
  • Verifying that programme/project related knowledge is shared appropriately to drive re-use of data, processes and technology where appropriate.

  • Cloud & Network security
  • Identity and access Management
  • Windows, Linux Operating Systems
  • Perimeter security
  • IT Risk Management with focus on security
  • Solid understanding of security protocols, authentication, authorisation.
  • Implementation of security solutions
  • Third party auditing
  • Project management processes (desirable)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven Security Architect to secure a long-term contract and work on major cyber project across the South East.
